The Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) is the single largest capital works project embarked upon by Glen Eira City Council in its history, equating to over $36 million.
The Glen Eira Aquatic Centre, Bentleigh and Carnegie Pools facility has been developed to provide leisure, recreation and wellbeing opportunities for all segments of the community and includes a 50 metre outdoor pool, 25 metre indoor pool, and outdoor play equipment including two water slides. With construction commencing in November 2009, the centre is anticipated to open in late 2011.
Xypex Admix C-1000NF has been specified in the pool concourse and plant rooms, in conjunction with Xypex Concentrate in slurry form at the concrete construction joints. Xypex Victoria assistance has also been requested from several contractors, to provide remedial solutions for applications such as bony concrete and pipe pentrations, utilising Xypex Megamix I, Xypex Megamix II, Xypex Patch ‘n Plug, Xypex Concentrate and M P&P Mortar.
GESAC will be one of the premier sports and aquatic centres within Australia. It will feature state of the art aquatic, fitness, sports, rehabilitation, wellness, café and occasional care facilities.
