Hazeldean Business Park car park deck in Christchurch, New Zealand, protected with Xypex

Hazeldean Business Park is a new development in Christchurch, New Zealand and consists of seven office buildings with a multi-storey car parking building, a café and bar complex.

With concrete waterproofing integrity and durability enhancement of paramount importance to the developers, the decision was made to include Xypex Admix C-Series as part of the concrete mix for the level four to five ramp and level five deck of the car park. Included as part of the waterproofing solution for the ramp and deck areas were Kuniseal C-31DS waterstop and a Xypex Concentrate slurry, installed as a system to provide a water-tight seal for construction joints.

Additionally, Xypex Admix C-Series was included in the 100mm topping slab for the precast panels, for enhanced concrete protection.

Xypex's primary and most distinguishing performance feature is its unique ability to generate a non-soluble crystalline formation deep within the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete - a crystalline structure that permanently seals the concrete against the penetration of water and other liquids from any direction.
