Xypex is a non-toxic, chemical treatment for the waterproofing and protection of concrete. Xypex's primary and most distinguishing performance feature is its unique ability to generate a non-soluble crystalline formation deep within the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete - a crystalline structure that permanently seals the concrete against the penetration of water and other liquids from any direction.
Xypex crystalline products are dry powder compounds composed of portland cement, silica sand and many active, proprietary chemicals.

Xypex Concentrate was specified and applied to 3000 square meters of concrete to provide additional protection for the reinforcement and ensure long-term durability. Xypex Concentrate is the most chemically active of the Xypex waterproofing products.
When mixed with water, this light grey powder is applied as a slurry coat to above-grade or below-grade concrete. All cold joints and internal surfaces of the pre-cast elements for Manchester Dam were treated with Xypex concentrate.
Xypex Admix C1000NF was also specified for additional concrete performance and waterproofing to all anchor covers and the roof structure of the offtake tower. Xypex Admix is a crystalline dry powder compound for the waterproofing, protection and improvement of concrete is added to the concrete mix at time of batching. In total 250 cubic meters of Xypex Admix C1000NF was dosed and poured.
