Optima Centre is a prestigious new office complex set to become a signature development in the Herdsman Business Park in Perth, Western Australia. Worth in excess of $120 million, Optima Centre is the only building outside the Perth CBD to have been accredited a 4 Star Green Star from the Green Building Council of Australia and is on target to achieving a 4.5 Star NABERS rating.
Comprising over 18,000m² of gross floor area with onsite parking for 520 cars, construction was completed by PACT Construction in two stages and recently reached practical completion, 16 weeks ahead of schedule.
Xypex Admix C1000NF was included as part of the concrete mix design for the lift shaft, water tanks and roof decks. By including Xypex Admix in these vital areas, moisture penetration can be prevented and the problems of sulphate attack, leaching, alkali-aggregate reaction, carbonation and corrosion can be controlled.
Because Xypex controls permeability, it is an important link to greater concrete durability and long-term structural integrity, thereby extending the life of the structure and providing greater environmentally sustainable credentials for the building.

Xypex Admix C-1000NF is endorsed by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) as environmentally preferable, under the Environmentally Innovate Products standard.
The GECA certification endorses Xypex Admix C-1000NF as having design and manufacturing attributes which directly reduce environmental loads by at least 30% in comparison to like products available on the Australian market.
As Xypex Australia specialise in concrete waterproofing solutions, the decision was made by PACT Constructions to include Kuniseal C-31DS waterstop, in conjunction with Xypex Concentrate, as the preferred waterproofing system for the floor and wall joint interface around the perimeter of the lift shaft and water tanks.
