Pasminco's EZ Wharf, TAS, Australia

A contaminated water pond on Pasminco’s EZ Wharf in Hobart was in need of a coating to compensate for lack of concrete cover over steel reinforcement. The concrete was 40 MPa silica fume-dosed concrete with Xypex Concentrate specified as a coating solution.

The Xypex Concentrate coating was accepted by Pasminco’s Engineers to achieve total impermeability and concrete protection.

It should be noted that the application was completed on the outside walls of the tanks to allow full penetration of Xypex crystals through the substrate, providing the reinforcing steel total protection.
