The Gardens, Albury NSW

basement_gardens_lrg1The development of The Gardens, in Albury NSW represents the most significant building to be constructed in Albury for over 30 years.

Limited commercial accommodation suitable for the client necessitated the need for construction of the 5 storey, 255 car space, purpose designed building.

The building presented significant construction challenges, including structural piling to 10m in depth to account for the old river bed in which the structure was built.

Xypex products were specified for the project to provide additional concrete durability and waterproofing integrity. This includes 1200m3 of 32mpa concrete which was specified with Xypex Admix C-Series to provide protection to the concrete podiums and exposed areas.

Additionally, all construction joints for The Gardens were installed with Xypex Concentrate and Kuniseal waterstop to prevent any moisture ingress in these areas. Xypex Quickset was applied to approximately 2000 square metres of exposed concrete carpark areas, to provide additional abrasion protection and seal the surface. Quickset penetrates into the capillaries of the concrete substrate and chemically reacts with the free lime and calcium carbonate to form a hard, insoluble gel within the pores, thus closing off the small voids
