After completion of the wharf deck in this project, numerous hairline cracks developed on its surface.
XYPEX Concentrate slurry coat treatment was approved to be used to repair the concrete hairline cracks on the surface of the wharf deck after a petrographic examination on several XYPEX treated core samples gave visible evidence that the growth of the XYPEX crystal had sealed the hairline cracks. No additional surface painting was required as colour of the cured XYPEX slurry matched that of the concrete itself.
