Eastern Treatment Plant - RAS Channel

The Eastern Treatment Plant – RAS Channel required a unique solution to provide protection to the copncrete against Chlorides, and to ensure impermeability.
Fine cracks were evident throughout the entire RAS Channel and these also required attention.
The Xypex Coating System comprising Xypex Concentrate, Xypex Modified and Xypex Gamma Cure was adopted as an effective and practical solution. The coating system was applied to floors and 600mm of walls via spray method. A Polybrid coating with high chemical resistance was subsequently applied over the Xypex coating.
Approaching 2,000 kg's of Xypex was applied to the channel.
